EDLD 5301: Week 3 Action Research Plan

EDLD 5301: Week 2 Reflection
This week’s assignment provided me with the opportunity to
view and read about experienced leaders and the types of action research they
have conducted within their campuses. I was able to learn something new from
each of them. I specifically liked what Dr. Timothy Chargios said about continuing
to educate ourselves, the analogy that green shows that you are growing and
brown that you are dying, could not be more accurate in our field. If new and
experienced teachers do not continue to participate in professional development
and stay informed about new instructional strategies, then they fail to impact more
students. I also agree with Dr. Kirk Lewis advice about action research, his
suggestion was that we need to focus on action research that is practical so
that students can benefit more. I really
enjoyed reading and becoming more knowledgeable about the nine areas of major wondering in many schools. The readings
gave me a better understanding of different possible issues that can be good inquiries
for an action research. I was able to relate to several issues that are currently
present in my school campus, but that previous to this week’s reading I didn’t
recognized them as possible action research topics.

EDLD 5301: Week 1 How Educational Leaders Might Use Blogs
Administrators can use blogs, as a tool to reflect on
ongoing action research, it also provides them with a feature that enables
other to post feedback that can potentially assist them. They can also use
their blog as a daily journal to share and model journal writing among student.
EDLD 5301: Week 1 What I Have Learned About Action Research
What I have learned about action research is that it is a continuous
spiral that is vital in every school setting to help insure that schools are
always operating according to state and district guidelines. The process
requires administrators to continuously engage in inquiry; administrators need
to find the time to actively identify and research current problems. Action research
provides administrators with the opportunity to collaborate with all
stakeholders; they collect and analyze data, assess the results and use them to
formulate plans of action, as well as evaluating and modifying the plan as needed.
The method provides administrators with the required knowledge to facilitate
and implement the plan to solve or improve the problem.
After meeting with my site supervisor and analyzing current
problems within our campus, we decided that it was vital to conduct an action
research in the issue of technology integration in the classroom. The proposed
inquiry will allow me to actively engage and collaborate with all teachers and
staff. With the guidance of my site supervisor I will conduct classroom technology
integration teacher surveys, which will provide me with the necessary data to
identify the main issues that are currently preventing classroom teacher from
using the available technology in their classrooms. The survey will also identify current areas
that need the design and implementation of technology professional developments,
to facilitate the use of technology in every classroom.
